Mozee, Malone and Atkins awarded by area media for performances against West Ouachita

When Class 2A Jonesboro-Hodge beat upset Class 5A West Ouachita by the impressive margin of 41-20 on Friday, September 10th, it caught the eye of media outlets across northeast Louisiana. As result, three Tiger standouts received special awards for their performances during the game.mozee award
Named “Impact Player of the Week” by K104 Radio and the Friday Night Scoreboard Show was DeVontae Mozee. The senior defensive back was chosen over 11 other candidates from northeast Louisiana schools from all classifications. He along with quarterback, Tydre Malone and linebacker, Xavier Hall also received the KTVE Channel 10 and KARD FOX 14 “Beast of the Week” Award.
Mozee returned two interceptions for touchdowns from 50 and 60 yards out which equaled the all-time Jonesboro-Hodge record of most interceptions returned for a score. He also made six tackles and added a pair of receptions from his wide-out position on offense.
Atkins also tied a JHHS all-time, school record with 19 individual solo tackles. He also added one assist, two sacks and two tackles for a loss. Malone was incredibly affluent in orchestrating the upset. The senior signal caller completed 13 of 23 passes for 157 yards and added two rushing touchdowns.
