PUBLIC NOTICES

THE JACKSON PARISH MUSEUM & FINE ARTS ASSOCIATION
May 16, 2022

The meeting was called to order by Barbara Johnson, president.
Present: Ben Ledbetter, Mary Hoover, Barbara Johnson, James Fitzpatrick, Melinda Garrett, Wilda Smith.
Absent: Mark Culpepper
The prayer was offered by James Fitzpatrick and the pledge led by Mary Hoover.
There were no guest or public comments.
Motion Ben Ledbetter second Mary Hoover approving the minutes of the last meeting. Motion carried
Motion Melinda Garrett second James Fitzpatrick to approve the payment of bills and the financial report. Motion carried
President’s report: Barbara discusses the tour bus visit. She requested Wilda to share a thank you note from some of those who were on the tour thanking us for our hospitality.
Old Business:
Barbara then discussed the emphasis on school tours for next fall. She stated that she had visited with Mr. Gaspard Principal at Cornerstone Christian Academy. Melinda would talk with the teachers at Quitman, Ben would contact the J-H middle school, Wilda would contact Weston.
New business:
Mary Borland, president of Woodland Chapter 115 resented President Barbara Johnson with a flag to be flown at the museum.
Mary Borland, president Woodman Chapter 115 presented a American Flag to be flown on the flag pole at the Museum.
Brennon Aranda had suggested that the Woodman chapter 115 donate a vacuum cleaner to the museum. Brennan attended the meeting and presented the vacuum cleaner and handheld vac to President Barbara Johnson to be used at the museum.
Barbara encouraged the board members to seek out volunteers to do a rotation with the board members and opening the museum. She also informed the group that Debbie Hinnman would be volunteering on the 21st. That Wilda would be meeting with her that morning and would come back and be there as she left to lock everything up.
