The calls started coming in as soon as the doors to City Hall opened on Monday. At issue was the water pressure being low for residents along Hwy 4, east of Jonesboro and on Walker Road.
Quickly the Town of Jonesboro Public Works department went into action to identify what the issue was. It wasn’t long before they found out there was a problem with Water Well #5 located on Hwy 4, just past Ayres Loop Road.
“Our crews have identified what looks to be the problem and are doing everything they can to get the well back to full capacity as quickly as possible,” said Thompson who proceeded to say this would take several days at best to rectify the problem. “We are dealing with a transmission system that is almost 60 years old and one fix may require another so this is a fluid situation. As result, I can’t guarantee how quickly the issue will be resolved but are doing everything we can to get this fixed.
