Expounding on the theory that it is never to early to get some work in, the girls basketball teams from JHHS, Quitman and Weston High Schools are venturing to Castor each Tuesday and Thursday throughout the month of June. The three squads join teams from host Castor, Saline, Ringgold, Dodson, Summerfield, Red River and Homer in competition.
“We aren’t really worried about the scores of the games,” said JHHS head coach Kris Cash. “For us it is about getting the girls used to playing with each other and developing new team leaders.”
Quitman and Weston head coaches Kyle Leach and Stacy Tucker echoed those sentiments stating that they aren’t even keeping score but focusing more on getting the girls to work as a team.
