Weston hosts Saline on Monday, QHS goes to OCS on Tuesday

Saline comes to Weston on Monday for a local boys battle between two eerily alike teams who are both trending in the right direction with district play looming. Both started the season slow but enter the contest with identical 8-11 records after splitting a pair of games last week which gave Weston their fifth win in the last eight games and Saline seven wins in the last nine. Adding to the irony is both took three point victories at Ouachita Christian in Monroe last week with Weston winning by a 57-54 margin on Friday and Saline celebrating head coach Klint Robinson’s 50th birthday by winning 50-47this past Tuesday. The Bobcats follow the Weston game up with a District 2C opening matchup against Atlanta on Tuesday, who beat Weston earlier this past week. Think that is wierd? Both also have games on Friday, 13th later this week.

Quitman also enters into the oddity of the week ahead and behind. The girls and boys will be the third local school to play at OCS on Tuesday, hoping to erase the memory of only the second time all season both the boys and girls lost to the same school on the same night when both fell to Pitkin on the road. For the Wolverines it also marked only the second time all year they have lost two straight.
