Eva Jo Dye
October 29, 1933 – May 25, 2023

dyeEva Jo Dye, age 89 of Jonesboro, ascended to her Heavenly home on Thursday, May 25, 2023. She was caring mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother and will be missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert Dye, Danny Dye (Betty); grandchildren, Stacie Marie Dye, Cynthia Michelle (Dye) Coleman (Ronnie), Kimberly Lynn (Dye) Day, Danny Dye, Jr., Tammie Jo (Dye) Marin (Arnulfo), Mary Beth Wilson (Ryan); 13 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Terral. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramey Lee Dye; parents, Bailey and Eva (Watts) Terral; 10 siblings.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 in the chapel of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Palmer officiating. Burial followed in Ansley Cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers were Charles Wayne, Floyd Walker, Tracy Johnston, Mark Cloud, Bo Watson, Todd Kenney.

Rachael Marie Askin
March 25, 1966 – May 26, 2023

askinRachael Marie (Trahan) Askin, age 57 of Quitman, made her way through the Heavenly gates on Friday, May 26, 2023. Rachael was most content at home with her family; especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren anytime they could get together for a visit. She could usually be found at home with the sounds of detective dramas or cooking shows playing in the background. Rachael was a sweet soul with a good heart.

She leaves behind her husband, Rodney Askin; children, Allison Thibodaux and husband Kevin, Mitchell Chaisson and girlfriend Catherine Ber, Rodney Askin, Jr. and wife Shannon; 7 grandchildren; siblings, Hilda Lassere, Raymond Trahan and wife Mandy, Henrietta Trahan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Alice (Guidry) Trahan; sister, Linda Trahan.

As per Rachael’ wishes she will be cremated.

Douglas Grant Woods
June 30, 1948 – May 22, 2023

woodsDouglas Grant Woods, age 74 of N. Hodge, LA passed away on May 22, 2023 in his home. Douglas was born on June 30, 1948 in Minden, LA. He grew up and graduated in the little town of Gibsland. He went to work at the Shell Plant in Minden, and later he went to work for the L N & W Railroad.

In 1975 he moved to N. Hodge and started working for the N L & G Railroad and then the KCS Railroad, retiring on disability with a total of 30 years. In his earlier years, he fished, hunted, and became an Amateur Ham Radio Operator.

Douglas is survived by his wife, Andrea Denise Johnson Woods, sons, Richard Douglas Woods and wife Cheryl of Ozark, Missouri, Robert Blake Woods and Danielle Milam of Brooklet, Georgia, daughter, Tiffany Shae Woods and husband Eric Smith of Ruston, LA, grandsons, Christopher Woods, Grant Woods, Garrett Woods, Gavin Woods, Gage Woods, Aaron Woods, Daniel Woods, and Gaige Kimbell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Woods and Katherine Davis Ried, son, Christopher Woods, and brother, Delbert Woods.

The funeral service was held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the North Hodge Assembly of God Church, officiated by Bro. Geary Phillips and Bro. Lance Huckaby. Burial followed in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Paradise Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers were Eric Smith, Tom McLemore, Hunter McLemore, Austin Creamer, Allen Edwards, and Bubba Moffett

Ronald R. Williams
May 8, 1967 – May 12, 2023

robert williamsRonald Ray Williams was born in Arcadia, LA, on May 08, 1967, the eldest child of Rev. Charles E. and Evangeline Williams.

Ronald accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and joined Springhill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and later united with Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of his father. His formal education was received at Shady Grove High School and he graduated in the Class of 1985. Ronald continued his education at Louisiana Technical Vocational College in Ruston, LA, where he received certification in automotive mechanics.

After his formal education, his passion for work and independence found Ronald working various jobs but later finding his niche as an entrepreneur. Ronald loved to work and give others advice on how to build their business endeavors.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Vester and Vill Williams, Sr., maternal grandparents Annie Lee and Scott Mamon and former wife Xzavier Combs.

He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Cassiopeia Combs of Jonesboro, LA; parents Charles E. and Evangeline Williams of Jonesboro, LA; siblings: one brother, Darren Williams of Randallstown, MD; two sisters, April Williams of Jonesboro, LA and Deborah (Robert) Qualls of Grambling, LA; grandchildren: Xzaviour Combs, Xzane Butler and Earlmias Wimberly all of Jonesboro, LA; nieces: Christian Williams of Fort Worth, TX, Rylee Moran of Jonesboro, LA, LaDonna (Kyle) Davenport of Grambling, LA, Lakeisha Qualls of West Monroe, LA , Rakeita Qualls of Ruston, LA; great nieces: Aryana and Brooklynn; one nephew: Landon Williams of Jonesboro, LA; a god brother: Roderick (Marilyn) Bradford of Vicksburg, MS: aunts, Eddie T. Delton of Los Angeles, CA, Bobbie (Ladell) Maxwell and Thelma Williams of Omaha, NE; uncles: Jesse Mamon of Simsboro, LA, and Vill Williams Jr. of Omaha, NE; a special cousin: Jacqueline Bradley of Monroe, LA; bonus children: Jumaze Combs of Houston, TX and Christopher (Marquita) Combs of Jonesboro, LA; a special friend, Leslie Moore of Baltimore, MD; bonus grandchildren: Cartier Dozier and Milan Baker both of Baltimore, MD; best friends: David Williams, Charlette McCardie and Craig Martin; family friends: LaRhonda Watson and Brandon Moran.

The Life Celebration Service was held on Saturday, May 27th, 2023 at the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Interment followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro under the direction of Paradise Funeral Home.
