JHHS and JHMS release 2023 football schedules

Are you ready for some football? If you are like most fans, the season can’t get here quick enough. For those who follow Jonesboro-Hodge High School and Jonesboro-Hodge Middle School the good news is you won’t have to wait much longer. 

Both have recently released their fall schedule which should be a delight to those who like to attend games and not have to travel far. Of the ten games on the JHHS schedule, five will be played at Caldwell Peacock Stadium with four of the road games less than 50 miles away. JHMS plays four of their games at home and also has minimal travel for the four road games.

2023 JHHS Schedule Preview 

JHHS enters the 2023 fall campaign under the guidance of head coach Terrance Blankenship, who by entering his 11th year at the helm, is now the longest tenured head coach in Tiger history.

The  first action of the season will be a three team scrimmage that JHHS will host on August 18th. The next Saturday, the Tigers will travel to West Monroe High School to take on St. Frederick of Monroe in the annual pre-season Bayou Jamb.

The regular season begins on September 1st with General Trass out of Lake Providence coming to Caldwell-Peacock stadium followed by the Tigers making a short journey to West Ouachita High School. Class 3A Bunkie will come to town on Sept. 15 with the Tigers trekking to Grambling to play Lincoln Prep at their brand new stadium on Sept. 22nd. Another road trip follows, this time to Pineville in the final game of the pre district portion of the schedule that finds JHHS taking on a Class 3A and two Class 5A schools.  

Local fans will really get to enjoy the beginning of District 3-2A play as JHHS will host Red River, Mansfield and defending Division III state champion Many in consecutive weeks before closing out the season by traveling to Lakeview High and arch rival Winnfield. Kick off for all games will be at 7:00 pm.  

JHMS 2023 Schedule Preview

Tre’Vaun Calahan opens his second season at the helm by taking his squad to Haynesville on Tuesday, August 29th. Three games in seven days follows beginning with the home opener against Winnfield on Thursday, September 14th. The next Tuesday, JHMS travels to Cedar Creek and on Sept. 21st takes a trip to Arcadia. 

Three consecutive home games follow with JHMS hosting Cedar Creek, D’Arbonne Woods and Lincoln Prep on Sept. 26, Oct. 3 and Oct. 10 respectively. The season final will be at Lincoln Prep at a time and date still yet to be determined.
