Chatham Village Council awards contracts for Public Works projects

The Village of Chatham councilmembers held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on September 12th where they awarded the contracts for two public works projects, discussed drainage problems and approved a trailer permit. 

With visitors Sue Henderson, Eddie Ruth Wyatt, Evelyn Carr, Shelly Huckleby, and Priscilla Metoyer in attendance, and Chatham Mayor Gregory Harris presiding the session started with the minutes of the August meeting and payment of monthly bills being approved.

Bernadean James, Toni Malone, Laverne Mixon and Mike Wilson then approved trailer permit #2023-04 to Evelyn Carr at the 12261 Hwy 4 location. Sue Proffer was absent. 

Jabar Corporation and Gulf Coast Underground, LLC. were then awarded contracts for the two projects being funded by Louisiana Community Development Block Grants (LCDBG). The agreement to approve concurrent change orders followed.

In final action councilmembers discussed the ongoing drainage problems with the result being the decision to get more information before moving forward with any of the suggestions made.
