A’llonha Gray crowned Quitman High School Homecoming Queen

A’llohna Gray is the 2023 Homecoming Queen at Quitman High School. The announcement was made during a ceremony prior to the QHS vs Claiborne Christian High School basketball game that was played on Friday, November 3rd where the Homecoming Court and Kindergarten Maids were introduced.

A’llohna Journe Gray 

A’llohna is the daughter of Mr. Cyrome Watkins of Bossier, LA and Ms. Shaundra Gray of Hodge. Her grandparents are Mrs. Melba Crain-Gray, the late Lonnie Gray, the late Alton Watkins, the late Debra Jackson, and her Great-Grandmother Mattie Watkins. She is being escorted by her father, Cyrome Watkins.

A’llohna has been a member of the Lady Wolverines Varsity Basketball Team for 4 years, as well as the Varsity Track and Field Team for four years, and the Lady Wolverines Varsity Softball Team for three years. She is a member of the Sandhill Baptist Church. A’llohna has been a member of the Student Council for four years, and FCA for four years. She has been on the Principal’s List since elementary school and has a current GPA of 4.5 and was nominated for Student of the Year in 5th, 8th, and 12th grades.

A’llohna works with Helping Hands ministries and the BETA Food Drive at QHS. She also runs errands for older members of the community. A’llohna is an active participant in Project Touch through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Epsilon Psi Omega Chapter where she participates in community outreach in promoting healthy living. She enjoys baking, binge watching shows, and spending time with family and friends. After graduation, she plans to attend Dillard University in New Orleans and major in Nursing and later becoming a Nurse Practitioner.

Taylor Brooke Harvey

Taylor is the daughter of Angela and Troy Harvey. She is the granddaughter of Linda and John Gaspard. Tonight she is being escorted by her father Troy Harvey. Taylor attends Life Church and is a member of the Senior Beta Club. She has been a member of the Lady Wolverines Varsity Basketball Team for four years and Softball Team for two years. Taylor is on the Principal’s List and A Honor Roll. She volunteers with the BETA Food Drive at QHS. Taylor loves hanging out with family and friends, sleeping, eating chicken strips, watching Grey’s Anatomy, and going to eat Mexican food. After graduation, Taylor wants to attend ULM and major in Nursing.

2023 Senior Maid
Maddie Grace Giddens

Maddie Grace is the daughter of Tara and Billy Carter of Quitman and the granddaughter of Paul and Susan Sisson of Monroe. She is being escorted tonight by her favorite, and only brother Ty Giddens. Maddie Grace is a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church in Quitman, and is a member of BETA, FBLA, FCA, and FFA. Maddie Grace has been a Quitman Varsity Cheerleader for six years and a UCA pin-it-forward recipient each of those years. She is a member of the regional and state competition team, as well as a national finalist.

Maddie Grace is a four-year member of the Quitman Varsity Track team. She has qualified for the state meet in multiple events each year. She holds three LHSAA state titles in the 300 meter hurdles, the 4 by 200-meter relay, and is the 2023 state runner-up in the 4 by 100-meter relay. She hopes to add to her medal collection at her last state meet this spring.

Maddie Grace volunteered at the Jackson Parish Hospital, Building Futures Pediatric Therapy, and Jonesboro Veterinary Clinic during the Area Health Education Center program. She helps out with the Senior Beta Club Food drive, as well as the Jackson Parish Recreation Department’s Legacy League and the town of Jonesboro’s annual hanging of the Christmas lights.

Maddie Grace strives to see the good in everyone, and she makes a point to always choose kindness and find some fun in each day. She loves to laugh, read, choreograph dances for her cheer team, tumble at Infinite, spend time with her friends and family, and as Coach Carter says, “She loves to sleep late, take long showers, and use up all the hot water.”

After graduation, she plans to become a UCA Cheerleader, while attending nursing school at Louisiana Tech. She later plans to become a pediatric nurse at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Laila Presley Bougues

Laila is the daughter of Eric and Kystoll Bougues. She is being escorted tonight by her father Eric Bougues. She is the granddaughter of the late John Ross Bougues, late Kathy Bougues, the late Joseph McKnight, and Jeanette McKnight. Laila was a QHS cheerleader for six years and is a member of FCA. She was on the 2018 LHSAA State Cheerleading Champions, the 2019 LHSAA State Cheerleading Runner-Up Team, 2019 UCA Dixie Regional Champions, 2020 UCA National Finalist, and a three time UCA All American Cheerleader.

Laila volunteered at Forest Haven Nursing Home, volunteered with the Legacy League at the Jackson Parish Rec Center, and helped put Christmas lights up in downtown Jonesboro with the QHS cheerleaders. She attends the North Hodge Assembly of God church. Laila’s interests include spending time with family, hanging out with friends, watching Netflix, shopping, and playing with her dog, Tucker. After graduation, Laila plans to attend Louisiana Tech University and major in Business.

Cali Jane Deal

Cali is the daughter of Brian and Syble Deal. Cali’s grandparents are Todd and Laura Culpepper, and Lynn and Rebecca Deal. Her escort is her father, Brian Deal. Cali is a member of the Lady Wolverines Varsity Basketball Team, and the Lady Wolverines Varsity Softball Team. She is also a member of BETA and FCA. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. Cali has committed to LSU to play softball after graduation and she was 1st Team All-State in Softball in her 8th, 9th, and 10th grade years, as well as District MVP for all three years. She has been named to the All-State Honorable Mention Basketball Team for the 9th and 10th grade and 1st Team All-District Basketball also. Cali has maintained a 4.0 GPA since 1st grade and was named Jackson Parish Student of the Year in grades 5 and 8. Cali enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling across the country, eating good food, and working out. She plans to attend Louisiana State University and become a physical therapist specializing in sports and athletic performance.

Jaleigh Chey’Ann Burns

She is the daughter of Jared and Chelsie Burns. Tonight she is being escorted by her father Jared Burns. Her grandparents are Keith and Kim Burns and Tim Poole and Dena Jones. She is a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and is a member of the youth group. Jaleigh is a member of the Lady Wolverine Basketball team, was on the Track team during her Freshman and Sophomore years, Senior BETA club, and FCA. Jaleigh has been on the Principal’s List since 1st grade, and volunteers with Operation Christmas Child, the BETA Food Drive, and Vacation Bible School. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, playing basketball, and shopping. Jaleigh plans to attend ULM and major in Nursing, and later become a Nurse Practitioner and specialize in Aesthetics.

Addison Paige Fenn

Addison is the daughter of Anthony and Sallie Fenn. Her grandparents are Todd and Laura Culpepper and Jacky and Cheryl Fenn. She is being escorted tonight by her father, Anthony Fenn. Addison is a member of Student Council, an FCA member for four years, a member of the BETA club for two years, and played on the Lady Wolverines Softball Team for three years. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA since first grade and was Quitman High School Student of the Year for both 5th and 8th grades. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro and is a member of the youth group there. Addison volunteers with Operation Christmas Child, BETA Food Drive, and helps at His Hands Ministry. Addison’s interests include hanging out with friends and family, going to the beach, and listening to music. After she graduates, Addison would like to attend Louisiana State University and become a Nurse Practitioner and specialize in Dermatology.

Ava Danielle Caskey

Ava is the daughter of Daniel and Jody Caskey. She is being escorted tonight by her father. Daniel Caskey. Ava is the granddaughter of Charles and Merle Hammons, and the late David Caskey and Rita Caskey. Ava is a member of the Lady Wolverines Basketball Team, and Track team. She is a member of the Senior BETA club, and FFA. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro also a member of the youth group. Ava has been on the A-Honor Roll, volunteered with Operation Christmas Child, and the BETA Food Drive. She loves playing basketball, throwing javelin, hanging out with friends, and listening to Taylor Swift. After high school, Ava plans to attend Louisiana Tech University, major in Kinesiology, and then attend a DPT program to become a pediatric physical therapist.

Anna Claire Leach

Anna Claire is the daughter of Ryan and Candice Leach. Her grandparents are Ronald Shively and Brenda Morris, and Robert and the late Connie Leach. She is being escorted by her father, Ryan. Anna Claire is a member of the Beta Club, FCA, as well as the Lady Wolverines Basketball and Softball teams. She was President of Junior BETA, and awarded All-District Honorable Mention in Varsity Softball and Basketball. Anna Claire was a member of the 2023 Division 5 State- Runner Up Softball team. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA. She volunteers with Samaritan’s Purse and Operation-Christmas Child, as well as the BETA food drive. Anna Claire is a member of Friendship Baptist Church and is a member of the youth group. She enjoys playing basketball and softball, hanging out with her friends, traveling, going on Sonic runs with Noah, and having joke battles with Dad. Anna Claire plans to attend Louisiana State University with a pre-dental major and later become an Orthodontist.

Taylor Breanne Borland

Taylor is the daughter of Bobby and Melissa Borland of Quitman. She is being escorted by her father, Bobby Borland, Jr. Taylor is the granddaughter of Bobby and Sara Borland of Quitman, and Marty and Lisa Folden of Weston. Taylor is a member of the Lady Wolverines Varsity Basketball and Varsity Track and Field Teams. She is a member of FBLA, BETA, 4-H, FCA, and is a Varsity Cheerleader. Taylor is a member of Hodge United Pentecostal Church and is a member of the Deep youth group. She is an Honor Roll student, an All-American Cheerleader for two years, and was awarded the President’s Award for Educational Achievement. Taylor loves hanging out with friends, shopping, watching TikTok, playing basketball, and cheerleading. After high school, Taylor wants to be a college cheerleader and attend nursing school.

2023 Kindergarten Court

Ella Jo Greer – Ella Jo is the daughter of Caleb and Josie Greer. She is a kindergarten student in Mrs. Lott’s class. Ella Jo enjoys playing with her brother, arts and crafts, and playing outside. When she grows up, she wants to be a bug scientist.
Parker Kate Long –  Parker Kate is the daughter of Matt and Anna Long. She is a kindergarten student in Mrs. Lott’s class. Her hobbies include playing with her sister, arts and crafts, putting on makeup, and playing outside. When Parker Kate grows up she wants to be a horse rider.
Polly Lott – Polly is the daughter of Megan Lott and Dustin Lott. She is in Mrs. Norred’s class. Polly likes painting, coloring, cooking, reading, and hunting for fairies. When she grows up, Polly wants to be a lifeguard at the pool.
Harper Millien –  Harper is the daughter of Madeline Sandefur. She is in Mrs. Lott’s class. Harper’s hobbies are painting her mommy’s nails, shopping, and playing outside. When Harper grows up she wants to be a nurse like her mamaw or a doctor.
Josie Toms –  She is the daughter of Taryn and Jennifer Toms. Josie is in Mrs. Norred’s class. Josie enjoys doing art with her mom and her siblings, playing on her tablet, loving on her kittens, and playing outside. When she grows up Josie wants to be a kindergarten and an art teacher.
