Donations being accepted for fire victims

One of the greatest things about living in Jackson Parish is that when one of our own has times of trouble the community always comes to their aid. This is true once again as many local groups, organizations and businesses are stepping up in many ways for the victims of the tragic apartment fire on Oaklawn Drive in Jonesboro.

If you want to be of assistance here are a few ways you can help.

(1) Monetary Donation – The Sophomore students at Jonesboro-Hodge High School (Class of 2026) are raising money to help with funeral costs and other needed expensed in memory of their beloved classmate Jamie Williams, who tragically lost his life in the fire. To donate, call Jonesboro-Hodge High School at 318-259-4138 or go by the school at 225 Pershing Hwy in Jonesboro.

(2) Food, bedding and clothing items – Bring any item you feel would be useful to one who has lost everything to Anytime Fitness, located at 914 Pershing Hwy in Jonesboro or Main Street Nutrition, located at 108 Jimmie Davis Blvd (Main Street) in Jonesboro.
