
Lillian Claudine Cartwright
May 14, 1933 – January 31, 2024
Lillian Claudine Cartwright passed away in Ruston, Louisiana on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. She was 90 years old.
Claudine loved to read. She did a great deal of volunteer work in her community and served for many years on the Jackson Parish Hospital Board. She was instrumental in getting Chatham Clinic established. Claudine was a member of the American Business Women’s Association. She started her own business at the age of 70. Her business, Eternal Blessings, provides sitters for Medicare/ Medicaid recipients throughout North Louisiana. Claudine was very supportive of her daughter, Sherri. She loved her family very much.
Claudine is survived by her daughter, Sherri Ezell & Wiley; grandson, David Ezell & Tyeler; and great grandson, Declan Ezell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Clifford Cartwright; father, Clyde Grafton Melton; mother, Lillie V. (Womack) Melton; and infant brother, Charles G. Melton.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM. Bro. Wayne Morrow will officiate. Burial will follow at Chatham Cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Freddie Hightower, Thomas Hightower, Jason Roberts, Roy Lynn Kennedy, Glen Womack, Donald Womack.
Belva June Robinson
June 3, 1932 – February 1, 2024
Belva June Robinson, age 91 passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. She was born June 3,1932 to William and Willie Collinsworth.
Belva lived to give to her family. She was a wonderful praying mother, a crafty aunt always welcoming her home to nieces and nephews to make baked treats for holidays. Even into her 80s she was known to cut out ginger bread men and decorate them for her great-great nieces and nephews.
She was a great basketball player in her younger years at Friendship school and went on to work as a secretary for a Louisiana state office in Jonesboro. She started attending a United Pentecostal church in her early years and played the accordion and piano by ear for services. She was a wonderful wife, sister, daughter, grandmother, and aunt. Our lives today will forever echo the imprint she has made on our lives.
Belva is proceeded in death by her first husband, Clyde Francis; second husband, Paul E Robinson; great granddaughter, Betha Renee Bankston; father, William Collinsworth, mother, Willie Bell Collinsworth; brothers, Harris, David, and Dayton
Collinsworth; sisters, Hazel Hall, and Mary Phillips.
Belva is survived by daughter, Stephanie D Hryszko; granddaughters, Hanna Bankston and Abigail McGrath; grandson, Wyatt Bankston and soon to be grandson, Jireh Nathaniel Bankston; sister, Virginia Treadway, and multiple nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11:00AM at Hodge United Pentecostal Church with Bro. Jeff Stroud officiating.
