It was the season opener but the high powered attack of defending Division V state runner-up, Quitman High School, looked in mid season form as the home standing, Lady Wolverines overwhelmed Simsboro 15-0, scored in each of the four innings played.
Maggie Guyotte picked right up where she left off last year as well, stroking a double and a triple to account for two runs driven in and three runs scored. She also fired a two hitter in the four inning shutout. Freshman, Zoee Williams, and 8th grader, Kinsley Ponder, made their presence felt as well getting two hits and driving in 4 runs each. Three more 8th graders also contributed as Hallie Kate Pullig scored 3 runs and knocked one in, Briley Bowers scored twice and Brenna Lamkin once. Karley Huckaby and Madison Chaplin each got a hit and scored a run and Marley Bell scored twice after coaxing a pair of walks.
