Police Jury holds meeting on Monday

Basic business was the focus of the majority of actions taken by the Jackson Parish Police Jury members during their regularly scheduled monthly meeting that was held on Monday, February 12th at the Charles H. Garrett Community Center in Jonesboro.

The session started with the approval of minutes from the regular January meeting on January 8 and the two special called meeting that took place on January 23rd and February 5th. This was followed by the approval of the Personnel Committee meeting minutes of February 1st. 

Management report came next from the Operations, Road and Solid Waste Departments, which also asked for the purchase of new trash bins and replacement bottoms which were approved. 

Mr. Paul Riley of The Riley Company of LA then gave the engineering report leading to parish board appointments being announced. The session ended with an application by Benson Bagwell to sale alcohol on Sunday being considered and denied.
