The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) has released the brackets comprised of the girls prep teams that have qualified for “Marsh Madness.” Five divisions of “select” and “non-select” schools will begin first round play beginning on Thursday, February 15, including local district 1B representatives Quitman and Weston High School.
The top rated 28 teams from each division earned the right to play for the coveted state championship trophy. Among local schools, Quitman and Weston qualified in Division V, while Jonesboro-Hodge of district 3-2A and both Saline and Dodson from district 2C saw their seasons come to a close after not making the field.
At #14, the Lady Wolverines (21-10) have earned a first round home game against #19 Florien (18-12), while Weston (16-13), which made the field at #21 in the Division V rankings, makes the long trip to #12 Bell City (17-10).
Both games will be played on Thursday, February 15, with tip off scheduled for 6:00 pm.
