The Village of Chatham Council held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 14th. Toni Malone, Laverne Mixon, Sue Proffer and Mike Wilson were present with Bernadean James absent.

The session began with Resolution 2024-04 being adopted which appoints Chatham Mayor, Gregory Harris as the Director and Dalton Jones as the Alternate Director to serve on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Municipal Natural Gas Purchasing and Distribution Authority.

Two Ordinances were also introduced. Ordinance #2024-02 amends the budget for 2023-34 while Ordinance #2024-03 sets the 2024-25 budget. A Public Hearing will be held at Chatham Village Hall at 5:30 pm on June 11, 2024 in regard to both ordinances. 

In additional action the panel agreed to name the Ruston Daily Leader as the official journal for the Village of Chatham and that if a customer purchases culverts or speed bumps the village will assist with the installation.
