LA Association of Principals welcome three new members from Jackson Parish

On Thursday, February 27th, three principals from Jackson Parish were accepted into District 2 of the Louisiana Association of Principals.  Joining the membership of school principals from Bienville, Claiborne, Jackson, Lincoln, and Union Parish were:

Dean Herbst, Elementary Assistant Principal of Weston High School
Krista Jones, Secondary Assistant Principal of Weston High School
Amy Privitor, Assistant Principal of Jonesboro-Hodge Middle School

LAP’s mission is to provide quality school-based administrative leadership for Louisiana schools through professional development, legislation, and member services.

Goals include:

Provide membership with personal and professional development services that will enhance their professional competency.

Communicate information on critical issues, educational trends, and public policy.

Provide a professional network for its membership.

Sponsor and support recognition programs for Louisiana principals and assistant principals.

Provide opportunities for Louisiana Principals to speak with one voice to effectively communicate positions to Congress, State Legislators, the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, and personnel of the Louisiana Department of Education.

Attract, retain, and involve school-based administrators in the organization.
