Jonesboro-Hodge Elementary School Hosts 2025 LEAP Pep Rally

On Friday, April 4th, Jonesboro-Hodge Elementary School (J-HES) hosted a LEAP Pep Rally for students in Grades 3-5 to get pumped up for testing that took place during the week of April 7-14.

The spirit-filled event included local pastors, officials, and guest speakers who offered prayers and words of encouragement to our youth. It also included special performances from the Jonesboro-Hodge Middle School Band and J-HES Cheerleading Squad.

Last but certainly not least, all 2024 LEAP Mastery Recipients and Teachers with the Highest Percentage of Students with Mastery per Content area were recognized, and every student left with a goody bag and a test-taking tips sheet.

“Tiger Families, the purpose of the LEAP assessment is to measure a student’s mastery of skills and readiness for the next grade level. It also contributes to our school performance score, which, as an elementary school, we are scored on assessments alone. I believe our teachers have done an amazing job preparing your student (s) for their LEAP assessments. But as your principal, I want you to know that we believe that our students are so much more than just a test score. While the tests offer insight into a student’s progress in ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies, it doesn’t reveal their artistic, athletic, or hidden talents, and they certainly do not determine how kind of a person they are. However, please encourage your student (s) to give their best!”- Ms. Copeland, Principal.

Special thanks to the following for their attendance:

Overseer McCardie, Kingdom First Church
