The Jackson Parish Ambulance Service District announces that registration is being taken for an Emergency Medical First Responder Course designed to empower you to act fast, stay calm and save lives. Gain the critical, life saving skills that make a difference in emergencies whether you are first on the scene of supporting EMS.

The first class scheduled to run from 8:00 – 10:00 pm at on May 13th at the JPASD Training Center, located at 115 Watts Street in Jonesboro. Cost of the course in $100.00 with recertification also being available while there is no cost for Jackson Parish Fire or Law Enforcement representatives.

Some areas of training include vital signs monitoring, airway obstruction, Immobilizing and splinting, stop the bleed, oxygen administration, overdose / Narcan administration, emergency childbirth and CPR / AED training.
