
The honorees for the “Student / Athlete of the Week” Award for the week of May 4-10 have been selected. The award, which is sponsored by the Jackson Parish Hospital, recognizes an outstanding student/athlete chosen from Jonesboro-Hodge, Quitman, and Weston High Schools, who are chosen by select members of the faculty and staff of each institution.
The selectees are chosen for best exemplifying what it means to be a true student-athlete through academic achievement and athletic accomplishment. Each recipient is recognized by the Jackson Parish Hospital through social media and receives a special commemorative shirt.
Earning accolades this week are, Nadia Siadek, the Class B state shot put winner on the Weston High School girls track and field team, Brianna Williamson, a member of the Jonesboro-Hodge High School Class A girls state winning track and field team and Maggie Guyotte of the Quitman High School Class B state softball championship team
