The Jackson Parish Library Board of Controls met on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the Jonesboro branch of the Jackson Parish Library for the regularly scheduled quarterly board meeting. 

The session started with board members Paula Essmeier, Judy Cooper, Lisa Nunn, Ann Standley, Vickie Jenkins, Robin Tew, and Carol Massey adopting the minutes of the November 7, 2025, meeting, and accepting both the 4th quarter financial reports and the October, November, December, and 2025 statistical reports. 

The focus then shifted to the election of officers for 2026, with the following being unanimously chosen to serve in their respective capacities. 

President – Carol Massey
Vice President – Anne Standley
Treasurer – Paula Essmeier
Trail Blazer Representative – Judy Cooper

The panel also decided that the board would continue to have quarterly meetings at 4:30 pm on the third Monday of April, July, and October at the main branch in Jonesboro and adopt the 2026 holiday schedule as presented. 

In final action prior to the meeting being adjourned, Uniti Fiber’s 36-month bid to provide internet access was accepted, and the hiring of a full-time Bookmobile/Outreach Specialist and a full-time Bookmobile/Outreach Coordinator was approved.
