
Donnie Miller
September 4, 1949 – February 23, 2026

On February 23, 2026, Donnie Ray Miller passed away peacefully at his home in Quitman, surrounded by his wife, daughters, and other family. Donnie was just a “good old country boy.” He was raised in Claiborne Parish in the little town of Lisbon. On October 29, 1969, he met the love of his life, Janis Corley. They were married on December 12, 1970, and had four daughters, whom he loved with all his heart.
Donnie found much pleasure in hunting and fishing. He loved to fish on Lake Claiborne because he knew it so well. He caught many Opelousas catfish and shared his bounty with everyone. He was known by many as “the catfish man.” From October through January, Donnie could often be found in the woods with his dogs, searching for a big buck. Each year, he proudly supplied his family with venison.
Donnie was a proud United States Air Force veteran, and he worked for Rock Ten for 39 years, one day, and one hour. He retired in 2012.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Janis (Corley) Miller; cherished daughters, Candi Roge’ (Tracy), Dana Plunkett (Todd), April Roller (Chris) and Julie West (James); grandsons, Dawson Miller, Kody Roller, Kameron Roller, Kaden West and Kyler West (Skylar), Kace West, Kaleb Roge’, David Todd Plunkett, Devin Plunkett, Kane Roge’ and Klay Roge’; soon-to-be great-grand child, Kodi Kayt West; brothers, Johnny Miller and Bill Miller (Pat); numerous nieces and nephews; and his loving dog, Jaci.
Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Felton Miller, and his mother, Mildred Josielee (Gray) Miller.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Bro. Wayne Morrow and Bro. Ricky Baker will officiate the funeral service, which is set to begin at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Quitman.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Dawson Miller, Kody Roller, Kaden West, Kyler West, Kace West, and Kameron Roller. Honorary pallbearers will be Kaleb Roge’, David Todd Plunkett, Devin Plunkett, Kane Roge’, and Klay Roge’.
The family would like to thank Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care of Monroe, and especially Robin Rhone (nurse), Angela (CNA), and Ricky Baker (Chaplain).
Ryan Edward Butler
October 28, 1972 – February 23, 2026

Ryan Edward Butler, age 53, of Liberty Hill, passed away in Shreveport on Monday, February 23, 2026, following a brief illness. Ryan had a deep passion for acting and film, studying at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and later hosting a podcast devoted to movie critiques. A proud United States Navy veteran, Ryan served as an aviation mechanic aboard the USS Bataan during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Survivors include his brother, Clyde Butler (Deana); nephew, Michael Butler; niece, Ashley Sims (Jason); aunt, Ruth Ann Kidd; cousins, Holly Kidd and Kaylyn Kidd; and special friend, Shanna Riley.
Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Larry Butler; mother, Gloria Dale (Thomas) Butler; and niece, Stephanie Butler.
In accordance with Ryan’s wishes, he will be cremated, and the family plans to hold a private memorial service at a later date.
Arlie “Eddie” McConathay
December 27, 1950 – February 26, 2026

Arlie “Eddie” McConathy, 75 of Jonesboro, Louisiana, passed away on February 26, 2026, at Cornerstone Rehab in West Monroe, LA.
Eddie was born and raised in Jonesboro. He proudly served as a member of the National Guard. He spent many years at the paper mill as a machine tender. He was also a loyal LSU Tigers football fan and faithfully cheered them on every season.
He is survived by his wife, Leona Chretien McConathy; his children, Cary McConathy and wife April of Morgan City, LA; Lori McConathy Langford of Haughton, LA; and Ashly McConathy Byrnes and husband Dr. Kerry Byrnes of Ruston, LA; his sisters, Dianne Buchan, Suzanne Gregory; seventeen grandchildren; Logan Wafer, Peyton Wafer, Landon Wafer, Annabella Wafer, Knox Langford, Graham Davis, Grayson Davis, Ella Bryan, Morgan Byrnes, Jackson Byrnes, Mary Kathyrn Byrnes, Coby McConathy, Dusty McConathy, Kera McConathy, Dylan Lege, Kaylie Lege, and Kylie Lege; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin McConathy, and his mother, Ann Womack McConathy.
A public viewing will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 1st, 2026 at the Paradise Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro, LA followed by the Life Celebration service. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery under the direction of Paradise Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Travis Ables, Michael Buchan, Jeremy Davis, Ronnie Hightower, Hayden Collins, and Shane Chretien.

December 22, 1963 – February 21, 2026

John Fitzgerald Birch passed away on February 21, 2026, at the age of 62 years old. A public viewing was held on February 27th at the Paradise Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro. The Life Celebration service took place on February 28th under the direction of Paradise Funeral Home.
Boyce Willis
May 26, 1957 – February 13, 2026

On February 13, 2026, Ms. Boyce Willis went to be with the Lore at the age of 68 years old. A public viewing was held at Galilee Baptist Chuch in Hodge, LA on February 28th followed by her Life Celebration service under the direction of Paradise Funeral Home in Jonesboro, LA.
