
Jonesboro, LA — Satavia Qualls, a senior at Jonesboro-Hodge High School, has been recognized as a finalist in the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Louisiana’s Youth of the Year competition, held on February 28, 2026. This distinction highlights her leadership, academic commitment, and dedication to personal growth and community involvement.
The daughter of Daracia Beard and Shaftevia Qualls, Sr., Satavia is deeply engaged in both school and extracurricular activities. She is an active member of 4-H, FBLA, FCA, and the BETA Club. At Jonesboro-Hodge High School, she also contributes her leadership and talents through Student Council, Yearbook, Tiger Talk News, cheerleading, and softball.
Satavia’s journey with the Boys & Girls Club began in Jackson Parish, where she was a member in her youth. Her experience with the Club played a significant role in shaping her confidence and character, helping her grow into the strong leader she is today.
Reflecting on her experience, Satavia shared, “My club means the world to me because it has helped build the confident and bold person I am today.”
Following graduation, Satavia plans to pursue a career as a cosmetologist, where she hopes to combine her creativity and passion for helping others feel confident in themselves.
