“It was a busy day for sure,” laughed QHS cross country head coach Cindy Pardue. “We are fortunate to have such a great staff as Jessica Sims, and I went to Pineville, while Macheala Walsworth went with the young ones.”
In varsity competition, the Lady Wolverines placed 2nd, and the boys finished 4th in the 5000-meter, 14-team event held at Buhlow Recreation Park, while the QHS elementary team had five runners finish in the top ten of their respective divisions.
Kaleigh King paced the QHS girls by coming in 9th place among the 41 runners, the highest among “small schools” that competed, followed by Audrina Martin and Anna Pardue, who had top-twenty finishes, coming in 14th and 15th, respectively. Lindsey Woods and Syerra Lewis finished 21st and 22nd, and Emma Thomas placed 33rd.
