Quitman man arrested for actions at hospital ER

(Lincoln Parish Journal) A Quitman man was arrested in the Northern Louisiana Medical Center emergency room Saturday night after he allegedly caused a disturbance and threatened the staff.

Responding Ruston Police officers were told Shawn Ethan Barr, 27, had cursed and yelled threats of violence at staff and then punched the nurse’s station window, breaking the glass.

Officers escorted Barr outside where he said he was not going to comply with officers and began to flex and pull away. He was placed in restraints as he continued to make threats about what he would do to the officers.

Barr was arrested and taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where he continued to make threats of violence.

While waiting to be booked, Barr reportedly punched another window and broke the glass.

Bar was booked for eight counts of assault on emergency room personnel, three counts of public intimidation, disturbing the peace, resisting an officer, and simple criminal damage to property.

Bail was set at $126,000.

  1. Law and order means just that. Without law you do not have order. He should have to spend some time in jail for what he did, maybe next time will be different. I think a lot of this could be because of this ,is because of the way his parents raised him. My parents would have beat my butt raw if i had got arrested for anything. maybe next time he will think befoe he acts,
