
Weston outhit Quitman 13 – 7, had 10 walks to 5 for the Lady Wolverines and committed two less errors. Easy win for Weston right? Nada! Quitman made the most of their opportunities to take a 13 – 11 win as Weston left 10 runners on base.
The contest see-sawed back and forth the entire four and 1/2 innings played with each team scoring in every at bat until the top of the fifth.
Weston had more hits led by three each from Lily LaBlance (3 RBI, 3 RS) and Teegan Hall (RBI, RS, SB) and two apiece from Rachel Bandy (3 RS), Tessa Reeves (3 RS, 2 RBI) and Gracie Gray (RBI). It was Quitman though that had the big blasts including a triple by Kynleigh Leach and both Hallay Taylor and Avery Watson slapping two baggers. Anna Pardue (2 RBI, RS), Amanda Staggs (2 RBI, RS), Emma Kate Toms (2 RS) and London Burks (2 RS) also came up big for the Lady Wolverines.
Quitman 11 Lakeside 4: The Lady Wolverines jumped out to a 6-0 lead by scoring three in the first and again in the second and Brenna Lamkin struck out five and threw shut out ball for three innings. Avery Watson knocked in two runs on the strength of a triple and a double while Kinsley Ponder got two RBI on two hits, including a double. Hallie Kate Pullig smashed a triple that drove in a run and drew two walks while Ella Simonelli and Hallay Taylor scored two each. Lamkin, Emma Kate Toms and London Burks also got an RBI and Briley Bowers scored a run.
Weston 11 Calvin 0: Rachel Bandy struck out six over three innings of no hit ball and she and Brylee Cuthrell drove in three runs apiece to help lift Weston to the easy win. Davynee Bearden, Kylie Davie, Carlynn Waters, Carly Jo Griffin, Addison Faulkner, Gracie Gray, Tessa Reeves, Allison Ramsey and Teegan Hall all scored one run each.
Weston 10 Simsboro 7: Carly Jo Griffin smacked a triple and a double, scored two runs and drove one in and Rachel Bandy got two hits including a double, drove in three and scored twice to lead the offense. Carlynn Waters scored twice with Davynee Bearden, Kylie Davis, Anna Shows and Brylee Cuthrell all crossing home once. Gracie Gray was the winning pitcher allowing only two hits.
