Staying true to the commitment he made when he was a Jonesboro-Hodge Tiger, Xavier Atkins has made it official that he will be a Tiger once again. Atkins, who prepped at Summer Creek High School in Humble, TX this past season, was one of 27 recruits to sign with LSU on the early signing day that took place on Wednesday, this past week.
Listed as the nation’s No. 26 linebacker prospect and ranked as high as the nation’s #10 linebacker by Rivals, Atkins was a finalist for 2024 Mr. Texas Football. Being named 1st team all district 21-6A after compiling 110 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, and 10 sacks, Atkins led his team to a 14-2 record and the schools first ever berth in the UIL Texas Class 6A Division II Championship Game.
