The Jackson Parish Tourism Board met on January 22nd in the Sunshine Room of the Jackson Parish Administration Building in Jonesboro where officers for 2024 were elected and plans made for upcoming local events.
Being chosen for leadership roles were:
Tammy Gunter – President
Kelly Spangler – Vice President
Sandy Joyner -Secretary
Board members also discussed plans for three upcoming events that will be held locally over the next several months including,
- Crappie Fishing Tournament – Event to be held in February on Caney Lake.
- High School Fishing Tournament – Event to be held in March on Caney Lake
- Archery Tournament – Event to be held in April at the Jackson Parish Recreation Department Sports Complex
In other business, it was announced that the Department of Transportation has been contacted about parking signs at Ebenezer Park and that arrangements will begin soon for the 2024 Art Contest. It was also agreed to purchase display items for up to but not exceeding $300.00.
The next meeting of the Jackson Parish Tourism Board is scheduled for Tuesday, February 13th in the Sunshine Room of the Jackson Parish Administration Building located at 160 Industrial Avenue in Jonesboro.
