Judging by the early returns on the season it could be said that the Quitman High School softball team looks even better than last year. While the jury is still out on that, there is no doubt that the field they play on at the QHS campus looks better. 

That is because of the generous donation given by Jonesboro State Bank – Pledge 10 which paid for padding and lettering that covers the base of the backstop and along the sidelines up to the dugouts along the first and third base line. 

Standing about two feet high, the royal blue padding provides motivational wording such as “Play Hard, “Play Smart” and “Play Together along the first base line and “One Team”, “One Dream” and “Lady Wolverines” on the fence down the third base line. Also shown is the letter “Q” on the backstop behind home plate.
