Quitman Golf Team wins District Title

District Champs!

With three of the five players that teed off for Quitman in the district championship golf tourney played at Frenchman’s Bend in Monroe, shooting a round in the 70’s the Wolverines easily claimed the District 1 crown.

The Wolverines finished with a team score of 313, well ahead of 331 score shot by Ouachita Christian. Cedar Creek came in third place with a team total of 338. Weston finished 4th place overall of the 12 teams that competed.  

Eli Walker led the way for QHS, firing an even par round of 72 to win Medalist honors. Pete Simonelli was right on his heels also, turning in a season best round of 76 to finish in third individually. Ian Tilley was the third Wolverine to score in the 70’s, firing a 79 to earn a 6th place finish. Tyler Pardue of Weston also had good day, ending with a score of 84, while Tayt Culpeppr of Weston and Noah Leach of Quitman played the 18 hole course in 86 strokes each. 

Cayden Smith and Jackson Kennard shot rounds of 95 an 96 for Weston while Hudson Pullig scored 99 for Quitman. Cam Mire also ended with a score of 116 for Weston.
