JHHS wins six events at district 3-2A track meet

Jonesboro-Hodge High School won six events at the district 3-2A track meet held at Winnfield on April 18th and qualified for 15 events in the upcoming 2A Region 1 meet to be held in Mansfield on April 24th. 

Leading the charge for JHHS was Ciara Gray who won gold medals in the girls 100 and 300 meter hurdles, as well as, the long jump and triple jump. Christian McGuire also won first place in the boys 100 meter dash as did the boys 4×200 meter relay team.

DeMarious Burns also had a big day for the Tigers , finishing as runner-up in the 200 meters and triple jump while coming in third place in the 300 meter hurdles. Sanaa’ Tatum also qualified for regionals in two events by coming in second in the 200 meters and third in the long jump.

Also qualifying for the regionals by virtue of second place finishes were Daelan Boston (1600 meters), Landon Boston (Long Jump), and the girls 4×200 meter relay team as did Zu’Wy’Neshya Johnson in the girls 300 meter hurdles, boys 4×400 meter relay team and boys 4×800 meter relay team for coming in third place.
