J-HMS beats Arcadia for first win of the season

Jonesboro-Hodge Middle School beat Arcadia Junior High 26-22 this past Tuesday in what will be remembered as a day of “firsts”. The victory by the Tigers was the first of the season and also the first career victory by first year head coach Max Martinez.

In the contest that was supposed to be the season opener back on August 29th, the junior high Tigers got huge efforts from King Campbell, who rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns and Raylon Bradford who had a touchdown catch and a “pick six” interception on defense. Triston Smith also was mentioned for his outstanding effort on defense.

“There are some things that we need to fix in practice but overall I was impressed with the effort given as the guys played hard for all four quarters,” said Martinez.

J-HMS, now 1-1 on the season, will next be in action on Thursday, September 19th when they play host to Lincoln Prep.
