
Randy Lee Culpepper
July 28, 1965 – January 19, 2025

Randy Lee Culpepper passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 in Jonesboro, Louisiana. He was 59 years old. Randy worked at Stone Container for 13 years and Weyerhaeuser for 15 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and often read mysteries and books on military battles. Randy was an avid poker player. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed holiday get-togethers.
Randy is survived by his wife, Telena (Holland) Culpepper; son, Todd Droddy (Jessica); grandchildren, Darin Allen, Layla Droddy and Sophie Droddy; sister, Jeanie Nugent (Raymond); brother, Mark Culpepper (Anne); a host of special nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Tina Pierce (Frank) and Judy Robertson (Chucky); brothers-in-law, Jamie Holland (Kim) and Tommy Holland (Heather).
He was preceded in death by his father, James Lee Culpepper; mother, Dianne (Kirkley) Culpepper; brother, Steven Culpepper; and sister, Jennifer (Culpepper) Westbrook.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 23 in the chapel with Bro. Jason Womack and Bro. Mike Staples officiating. Burial will follow in the Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery near Jonesboro.
Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Searcy, Mo Searcy, Barry Stewart, Brad Stewart, Cedric Lard, Donavon Holland, Landon Hartis and Albert Shavers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Holland, Tommy Holland, Frank Pierce, Chucky Robertson, Darrel Pardue, Toby Pardue, Mark Culpepper and Raymond Nugent.
Rev. Ronald “Ronny” Taylor
July 25, 1948 – January 14, 2025

Reverend Ronald “Ronny” Willard Taylor, 76, of Dodson, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in Dodson. He was born on Sunday, July 25, 1948, in Winnfield, Louisiana, and made Dodson his lifelong home.
Ronny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and pastor who dedicated his life to sharing the love of Jesus Christ. For 40 years, he faithfully preached the Gospel, serving as pastor of Gloryway Church for 25 of those years. Preaching was his true calling, and even in times of illness, he found strength and purpose in delivering the Word of God, often remarking that he felt whole and well when sharing Jesus.
Outside the pulpit, Ronny enjoyed riding his buggy around his place to check on his cattle, a cherished part of his daily life. He found peace and inspiration on his special prayer hill, where he felt a deep connection with God.
Ronny proudly served his country in the National Guard and was a skilled electrician. He owned and operated Taylor Electric, Inc., until his retirement in 2022. Working alongside his son, Ronny Jr., he traveled to various industrial plants across several states, creating lasting memories and a legacy of hard work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, O. W. Taylor and Mary Francis Shields Taylor, and his beloved son, Ronny Taylor Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Gail Barnhill Taylor of Dodson; his daughter, Tannah T. Fitzgerald (Mike); his sisters, LaRue Waxley (Thomas), Elaine Williams (Kenneth), and Janie Shelton; his four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and his loyal companion, Taffy Bear.
The funeral service was held on Friday, January 17that 11:00 AM. at Gloryway Church in Dodson with Reverends Blake Boyett and Mike Williams officiating. Burial followed at Gloryway Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield.
