For thirty years, Perri Jackson has been picking up children in the morning and returning them home in the afternoon from school as a bus driver for the Jackson Parish School District.

For the most part, it is a tedious and thankless position, requiring countless hours of going from house to house, starting and stopping, keeping kids of all ages in line, and all the while staying alert for dangerous drivers and the hazards of the road.

At the regularly scheduled meeting of the Jackson Parish School Board that was held on April 7th, her faithfulness and dedication to her position was recognized when Jackson was presented with the 2024-25 Jackson Parish School Bus Driver of the Year Award. 

Adding to the accolades, Lauren Young of Property Casualty Alliance of LA (PCAL) presented Ms. Jackson with an additional honor, this being selected as the 2024-2025 PCAL Regional Bus Driver of the Year.
