
A total of 36 competitors from Jackson Parish 4-H recently competed in the 2025 4-H State Shooting Sports Competition that was held in Ascension and West Baton Rouge Parishes with the local contingent coming home with two national competition qualifiers and 15 placing in the top ten in various divisions
Earning the right to compete in the 4-H National Shooting Sports event that will be held in Grand Island, Nebraska on June 27-27 is Gregory Remington and Easton Hall, who finished 1st and 2nd in the Seniors – Slow, Rapid, Silhouette Division.
Sheppard Norred and Jake North won first place in the Junior and Senior Archery 3D Compound Division respectively while Matthew Earl came in second place in the Junior Air Pistol competition and Jake North grabbed third in the Senior Field Compound Division.
Additional Top Ten finishers included:
4th Place – Jude Luther in Advanced Air Pistol
4th Place – Kylee-Ayn Allen in Junior Archery 3D Compound
6th Place – Brayden Carmichael in Junior Archery 3D Compound
7th Place – Avery Dark in Smallbore Pistol, Slow, CPR, Silhouette
9th Place – Elsie Flynn in Senior Air Pistol, Slow, CPR, Silhouette
9th Place – Gabriel Walsworth in Senior Archery Field Compound
9th Place – Gabriel Walsworth in Senior Archery 3D Compound
10th Place – Brandon Lafitte in Junior Basic Air Pistol
