James “Big Jim” Horn – 16 Years:
Big Jim serves as both the Field Training Officer and the Program Director for the JPASD Training Center. With 16 years of steadfast service, he plays a vital role in shaping clinical education and field readiness. Jimmy is known for his mentorship, professionalism, and genuine care for the development of new EMS professionals. His influence stretches far beyond the classroom, it’s seated into every shift and patient encounter.
Mary Houge – 26 years
For more than a quarter of a century, Mary has served the residents of Jackson Parish with grace and commitment. Hee 26 years at JPASD have been marked by tireless service and a deep love for her role as Paramedic. Mary finds joy in every aspect of her work, and her dedication continues to be a shining example to new and seasoned staff alike.
JoLynn Smith – 20 years
As the Director of Operations, Jolynn’s role is pivotal in the day-to-day service, delivery, and long-term planning. With 20 years of full-time service, she brings leadership, vision, and deep operational insight to the JPASD organization. JoLynn also serves as the Lead Instructor for the Training Center, where her passion for EMS education is evident in every class she teaches and every curriculum she helps build. She is the driving force in staff development, quality improvement, and system coordination. Her commitment to high standards and community-focused care ensures that JPASD remains not only effective but exceptional.
Aaron Johnson – 18 years
Aaron serves as the Director of EMS and has been with JPASD for 18 years. His role is critical in overseeing all aspects of emergency medical operations. From protocols and performance metrics to logistics and interagency coordination. Aaron is known as the steady hand who keeps service aligned, accountable, and responsive to the needs of the community. He is deeply respected for his ability to lead during both routine operations and large-scale incidents. Under his guidance, JPASD has continued to grow as a high-performance EMS agency delivering compassionate, skilled care to those who need it most.
