With a new school year beginning in Jackson Parish on Wednesday, August 20th, it also marks the beginning of a new sports season. Ask any coach what one of the first things they tell his/her team at the beginning of a new season, and they will tell you that last year is past and has nothing to do with what will take place this season.
Even if it was winning a second straight state title, such as what the Lady Wolverines softball team from Quitman High School did.
While the QHS coaching staff may want the players to move on from the past glory of the last two years, the fans will have something to bring back the memories every time they come to the Lady Wolverines’ home softball field.
Earlier this week, a new “Back-To-Back” state champion sign was erected at the field that commemorates the tremendous accomplishment achieved by the 2025 Lady Wolverine team.
Framed in a white post border, the 4′ x 8′ sign features the wording 2025 Quitman Lady Wolverines at the top with a picture of the players and coaching staff shown just below. Underneath is the wording Back to Back STATE CHAMPIONS with the names of the team members, coaching staff, and managers at the bottom.
