Letter to the Editor

Forest Haven

I came expecting thirty days,
 quiet stay, a healing phase.
But what I found was something more—
A haven with a caring core.

Smiles from CNAs start the day,
With willing hands to help, they stay.
Not just a place to rest and mend,
But one where kindness doesn’t end.

Activities to stir the soul,
Creating joy becomes the goal.
No idle time to pass away,
There’s purpose woven in each day.

Therapy, both strong and true,
Pushes gently, guides me through.
A bath, a walk, a stretch, a bend,
Each small step helps me ascend.

Nurses, aides, the ones who clean,
Those who cook and serve unseen—
Each plays a part, each heart aligned,
To bring back strength and peace of mind.

The meals are more than just routine,
With choices vast and plates kept clean.
It almost feels like home in here,
With comfort, care, and voices near.

Forest Haven—what a name,
More than rehab, not the same.
It’s where the healing truly starts,
With hands and smiles and open hearts.
