Every parent, every grandparent, and every resident knows one thing: we cannot afford to lose a child to something that can be prevented.
Lately, we have seen too many close calls involving our youth not practicing safety near roadways. One moment of distraction can change a life forever. That is why the Jonesboro Police Department (JPD) is leading a proactive initiative to meet our youth where they are. Instead of waiting for accidents to happen, officers are now out on scooters, highly visible, approachable, and engaged directly in the areas where our children are most at risk.
In addition to action, the JPD will soon host a Community Safety Class focused on our youth, teaching real-life awareness, street safety, and how to avoid becoming the next tragic headline.
The goals are simple:
No child hurt. No family grieving. No preventable tragedy.
The JPD reminds that we all have a role to play. Talk to your children. Stay aware. Support this effort. Together, we can protect the future of our town
