Class of 2023 inducted into the Jackson Parish Sports Hall of Fame

The Jackson Parish Sports Hall of Fame held their annual banquet on Saturday, October 7th where six local sports greats were inducted into the hallowed hall as the Class of 2023. Two more were recognized for Outstanding Achievement. 

Four that were enshrined, Charles Andrews, Marvin Thomas, Michael Malone and Harmon Ayres, prepped at Jonesboro-Hodge High School. Corey Bond represented Weston High School and Casey Jackson was from Chatham High School. The Outstanding Achievement Award winners were Roy Barlow and Bill Staples. 

Also honored during the gala event were the 2022-23 Male and Female Athletes of the Year from Jonesboro-Hodge, Quitman and Weston High Schools as shown below.

The newest class bring the total of Hall of Fame members who participated in athletics at schools in Jackson Parish to 72 since the first class was inducted in 2009. There is also now ten individuals who have been honored for Outstanding Achievement and a male and female High School Athlete of the Year from the three Jackson Parish High Schools that have been recognized every year since 2011.
