The Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Department issued the following statement on Tuesday afternoon categorically denying that a text had been generated by the JPSO on October 10th.

The Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a text being sent out stating that it has come from the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office has sent out no text messages. Any messages related to anything going on in the Parish will be seen on our Facebook page, our Sheriff’s App, or website. We have no information that there is any on going threat in the Parish.
