Quitman High Cross Country boys and girls take second at district meet

There was a time in the not so distant past that Quitman Cross Country was synonymous with district and state titles. Those days are not quite all the way back yet,  but they are getting closer. as both the girls and boys teams finished second in District 1B competition 

Cindy Pardue’s is in her first year as head coach of the girls and boys Cross Country team at QHS after coming over from Weston, where she built the program to great heights. She is doing the same a Quitman.

“We are in a season of building and growing and I am so proud of the work each of these athletes have put in,” said Pardue. “I can’t wait to see what their futures hold.”

Horton wins district, Keeley places second

Individual runners from QHS did well at the meet also with Gage Horton winning first over the three mile course and Megan Kelley taking home second. Morgan Cheatwood and Brayden Smith also grabbed podium places by coming in third respectively.
