
On May 20, the Jonesboro Study Guild held its year-end meeting, marking the conclusion of their activities for the current term. The gathering, which saw no old business discussed, focused on new proposals and the installation of officers for the upcoming year.
During the meeting, President Christy Weeks proposed that the study guild become a business member of the local chamber of commerce. This suggestion was met with enthusiasm and was motion by Rose Mary Ewing and seconded Mary Cryer. The motion was carried unanimously.
The highlight of the meeting was the election and installation of new officers for the 2024-2025 term. The newly elected officers are:
– President: Joann Teat
– Vice President: Kathy Allen
– Secretary: Rosemary Ewing
– Treasurer: Wilda Smith
The installation ceremony was conducted by outgoing president Christy Weeks. Following the installation, President Joann Teat announced the committee appointees for the new term.
The meeting concluded with a delightful salad and dessert luncheon, enjoyed by all members in attendance, fostering a sense of community and celebration as the club looks forward to another productive year.
