Jackson Parish 4-H is well known for having members garner top honors. Just in the last month alone, local 4-H’ers won a state championship in tractor operations (Luke Dietrich) and a national championship shooting sports (Easton Hall)

Add Gracie Bourgeois to the prestigious and ever growing list of champions! 

On July 9-12, Bourgeois and her trusty steed “Riley” competed in the LSU State Horse Shown held at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzalez, LA. In the five separate areas of competition (Showmanship, Horsemanship, Western Pleasure, Open Trail, and Reining) Bourgeois finished in the top eight in every event. This includes three times placing in the top two among the competitors. 

The end result was that Bourgeois, in her final year of junior division competition, was awarded the title of 2024 State 4-H Horse Show High Point Junior Western Division Champion.
