Cali Deal and Hayden Davis of Quitman High School made their college destination official on Monday, November 18th when both signed athletic scholarships to attend LSU and LSU-Shreveport respectively. 

The event that was held in the Quitman High School gymnasium in front of the student body and well wishers, was an historic occasion as it marked the first time ever that a female from Jackson Parish signed an athletic scholarship to LSU and the first time ever a high school angler from Jackson Parish has been awarded a fishing scholarship.

Deal will attend LSU after leading Quitman High School to their first ever state championship in softball while Davis, who is a top contender on the Northeast Louisiana High School Anglers circuit, goes to LSU-Shreveport. Both are looking to continue their success this spring.
