Weston Jr. High sweeps Choudrant and Dodson to close stellar season

Simply Perfect!
WJH players hold up two fingers on each hand, signifying their 22-0 record this season

One of the most successful overall seasons in recent Weston Junior High School history came to a glorious end this Monday and Tuesday as WJH “broke out the broom” by sweeping Choudrant and Dodson in girls and boys action.

The pair of victories by both gave the two teams a combined 36 wins on the year, setting a new junior high school record of most combined victories in a season. For the Lady Wolves, the 42-27 victory over Choudrant and the 34-16 triumph over Dodson gave WJH a final 14-4 record as they ended the season on a three-game winning streak and wins in 12 of their last 13 games.

The boys’ team was even better as the 56-27 victory over Choudrant and the 66-18 domination of Dodson completed their quest for perfection that saw Weston win 22 straight games this season without a loss.

“You always hope to win every game you play, but very seldom does that end in being a reality. It was definitely an unforgettable season,” said WJH head coach Jacob Otwell. “These guys are special and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to coach them.”
