Watching Over Me
Composers George and Ira Gershwin gave us the sentimental ‘Someone to Watch Over Me.’ What a great song title; don’t we all need T.L.C? Life begins with newborns receiving tender loving care from doctors or midwives.
Loved, we live out our lives in security given by parents, guardians and mates. Lives will slip away (at God’s appointed time) under the watch-care of family and hospice caregivers.
Above all, throughout life, we trust in God.
The LORD watches over us.
“The Lord looks from heaven;
He sees all the sons of men.
From the place of His dwelling He looks
On all the inhabitants of the earth;
He fashions their hearts individually;
He considers all their works.
No king is saved by the multitude of an army;
A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
A horse is a vain hope for safety;
Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope in His mercy (Psalm 33:13-18 NKJV).”
I’m receiving the Father’s tender loving care. He is watching over me.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust (Psalm 91:1-2 NKJV).”
