In an effort to keep the Town of Jonesboro clean and trash-free, Mayor James “Spike’ Harris, on behalf of the Sanitation Department, is asking residents to bag their trash before placing it in the garbage receptacles. 

Recently, Harris issued the following request to residents and utility customers of the Town of Jonesboro.

The Town of Jonesboro is asking all residents to please place household garbage inside trash bags before placing it into garbage cans.

Bagging trash helps:
• Reduce loose garbage blowing into neighborhoods
• Keep streets, yards, and drainage areas clean
• Improve sanitation and efficiency during trash collection

Loose trash often escapes cans during pickup and transport, creating litter throughout our community. Using garbage bags is a simple step that makes a big difference.
