The Jackson Parish School District is proud to announce that Brittany Goss of Quitman High School has been selected as a Louisiana Middle School New Teacher of the Year Finalist. 

Known for her innovative instruction, she was chosen for her dedication to fostering student engagement and passion for education.

The Louisiana Teacher and Principal of the Year honorees will be announced in July 2026 at the 20th Annual Cecil J. Picard Educator Excellence Awards Gala in New Orleans.

The Louisiana Department of Education conducts the Teacher of the Year program to honor the state’s most exceptional educators who demonstrate excellence in the classroom and a commitment to student success.
