Quitman boys score season high in victory over Calvin

Brayden Smith skies for two!

Bradyen Smith scored a season high 18 points to help Quitman set a new season best scoring total in their 82-45 victory over Choudrant. With the victory the Wolverines improved to a Jackson Parish best 11-2 mark on the year. Calvin fell to 6-10 on the season. 

Three other Wolverines also reached double digits in points as Gavyn Caskey scored 17, with Noah and Abel Leach adding 14 and 11 points respectively. Brayden Martin contributed seven points with Shane Reed tying his season high with six. Amaurion Thompson finished with four followed by Taden and Larson Thomas chipping in with 3 and 2 points each. 

Deal’s “Double-Double” lifts Lady Wolverines to win

Cali Deal scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to help Quitman take the victory after trailing by 8 points at the half. The victory, which marked the most points overcome in a game this year gave the Lady Wolverines a 9-5 mark on the year while Calvin fell to 10-6. Down 29-21 at the break, Quitman outscored Calvin 14-6 in the third quarter to tie the game and then won the fourth period by a 19-14 margin. Jaleigh Burns, Taylor Borland and Anna Leach also had big games with 8 points each, the total marking Burns season best and Borland’s second best season scoring total. Hallie Kate Pullig added six points, Emma Walker finished with five and Brooklyn Brown tallied three points to round out the Lady Wolverines scoring.
